Canvas Module Overview: Interactive Storytelling & Animation Week

📅 Week at a Glance

This week, we will continue developing our digital storytelling and creative design skills through two exciting projects using Google Slides. You will work in groups to create an interactive If-Then Adventure Story and then explore animation techniques to bring images to life!

💥 Reminder: Park Crest Middle School is competing against other middle schools for the most keyboarding minutes practiced! Be sure to log your Adaptive Keyboarding time on Wednesday and any time you finish early to help us win!

🗓 Weekly Breakdown

📖 Monday & Tuesday: Write an If-Then Adventure Story 📝

• Work in teams to create an interactive story where the reader makes choices that change the outcome.
• Use Google Slides to link choices to different slides and create a branching storyline.

⌨️ Wednesday: Keyboarding Practice ⌨️

• Use Adaptive Keyboarding in Learning.com to improve typing speed and accuracy.
• Every minute you practice helps our school in the district keyboarding challenge!

🎬 Thursday & Friday: Create an Animation in Google Slides 🎨

• Design a short animation using multiple slides to create movement.
• Bring a story, object, or natural process to life through sequencing images.

📌 How This Module Works

✔️ Each day's lesson will be posted as a separate Canvas Assignment.
✔️ You must complete each assignment before moving on to the next one.
✔️ Keyboarding practice is always available if you finish early.

🚨 Submitting Your Work

• For Google Slides Projects:
  🔹 Set your file to “Anyone with the link can view.”
  🔹 Copy and paste the link into the submission box in Canvas.
• For Keyboarding Practice:
  🔹 Use Adaptive Keyboarding in Learning.com until the last 15 minutes of class.
  🔹 If you finish early on other days, continue practicing keyboarding.

🏆 Need More Time?

Friday is a catch-up day! If you have any incomplete work from this week, use Friday to finish and submit it.
